Symptoms
Depending on the organ affected symptoms may include:
- lupus skin rash
- arthritis
- anaemia
- chest pains
- abdominal pains
- blood in urine or faeces
- depression or psychotic symptoms
One of the other conditions similar to Lupus is Juvenile Dermatomyositis.
In these conditions there is usually a distinct skin rash affecting the face, hands, knees, and elbows. The younger child may be irritable and grizzly, and patients may develop weak muscles unable to climb stairs or lift their arms.
When the condition is very severe the voice may become nasal, or there may be coughing and spluttering on swallowing thin fluids.
