I was contacted today by one of the regional paediatricians about an adolescent girl with rapid weight loss of 8kg over 3-4 weeks. Although the blood count was reported as normal, Antinuclear Antibody test (ANA) was reported as positive (1:640) which raised the suspicion of lupus.
